Sept_inviteSeptember 4th through October 7th, ArtWorks Gallery & Studio will showcase paintings by Lisa Cunningham and Renée Emanuel. The exhibit “Near & Far” features pastel paintings by Lisa and acrylic paintings by Renée of places & things that evoke a strong personal passion in each of the artists.

Both artists are nationally recognized for their work. Recently, Lisa’s painting “Weathered Spring Hills” was accepted into the 2015 Pastel Society of America 43rd Annual Exhibition: Enduring Brilliance! in NYC. The painting “Peace & Quiet” won the Great American Artworks Award in the For Pastels Only on Cape Cod 2015 national juried show. She’s a graduate of Keystone College and Kutztown University with degrees in Fine Art and Art Education.

Renée graduated from Marywood University with an MFA in Painting. She has been recognized as an award winner in the publication, The Best of  America, Watercolor Artists and Artisans and is a signature member of  the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society.  Her work was also selected for the books Watercolor Expressions and The Best of Acrylic Painting, and  was the focus of an article, “Cherished Objects” in Country Living  Magazine.  Most recently she was awarded the NSPCA’s highest award for Casein Painting at the Salmagundi Club in New York.

An opening reception for “Near & Far” will be held at ArtWorks on First Friday, September 4th from 6-9 PM.
