Meet the FF April Artist: Tom Gallagher

Name:  Tom Gallagher

Town: West Hazleton Pa.

Medium(s): I work with digital photography and sometimes black & white

film.

What got you into creating art? I would like to think that what I do is art, some would say not. So, for that reason I try hard to take photographs that are unique. As for why I started it was my love of the forest and I wanted to share what I was experiencing.

What work do you most enjoying doing? Nature scenic.

What’s your favorite artwork? As for the work of others I enjoy Impressionism painting and architecture.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given? Trust your instincts, follow your heart, enjoy what you are doing.

What inspires you? Again, Nature.

Favorite artists? The artist who inspired me is Ansel Adams.

What do you enjoy about First Friday? I am somewhat new to your event – although I did participate a few years ago – but it seems to me the main attraction would be the gathering of community.

Where do you see your art going in the next year? I would like to sell a few prints and also have some work used in marketing, focusing on Northeast Pennsylvania.
