What got you into creating art? I have been into art as far as I can remember. I started writing short stories when I was eight years old. I would also illustrate my stories and draw cartoons. I didn’t get into photography until more recently.
What work do you most enjoying doing? Lately, nature and street photography, but I love painting portraits.
What’s your favorite artwork? My current favorite is “The Lovers” by René Magritte. It’s fitting for our current events.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given? To think of faces as just an amalgamation of separate individual shapes
What inspires you? Observing nature, music, meeting new people, traveling to new places, and the seemingly mundane
Favorite artists? Frida Kahlo, Francis Bacon, Ansel Adams, Mary Ellen Mark
What do you enjoy about First Friday? I enjoy going to galleries, being inspired by local talented artists and photographers, and observing how others view and discuss the works on display
Where do you see your art going in the next year? I see myself continue to hone my craft and delve deeper into my artistic interests
