Regional artists reveal hidden gems of Northeastern Pennsylvania
through original paintings & photos

A new exhibit at Lackawanna Heritage Valley (LHV) depicts the beauty and heritage of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s hidden gems through the eyes of regional artists. Their cameras and paint brushes take guests on a journey through the landscape of the region in a whole new way.
An opening reception for the exhibit titled NEPA Uncovered will be held on Thursday, February 12, from 3 to 6 p.m., at Lackawanna Heritage Valley’s headquarters, 213 South 7th Avenue, Scranton. Through a partnership between LHV and the Everhart Museum in Scranton, the juried show features the work of regional artists of all ages. Local artists were asked to submit original work “illustrating a secret or hidden space in Scranton or Northeastern Pennsylvania” known only to them, or their friends. The result is an exhibit offering an insightful look into the region’s heritage with pieces on display at LHV and the Everhart Museum.
Participating artists include: Brooke Antoine, Corrynn Brown, Mike Carey, Rachael Chastain, Mark S. Ciocca, Ryan Eggleston, Melinda Figueroa, Selena Figueroa, Marissa Fiske, Marty Gatto, Rebecca Gavin, MaryBelle Gilroy, Alan Kehoe, Max Ksenich, Ava Leach, Earl W. Lehman, Liz Luisada, Max Madura, Joshua Meyers, Rahique Mirza, Lisa Ohliger, Judith Present, Ashley Quidley, Joseph Rama, Aaliyah Rosado, Lori Ryan, Lindsay Shaw, Michael Sorrentino, Taylor Stein, Janna Weed and Hannah White.
There is no charge to attend the reception at LHV, and all are welcome to view the work inspired by the people and places that make Northeastern Pennsylvania so unique. For more information on NEPA Uncovered, visit www.lhva.org or call 570. 963.6730.
